AbilityMate is currently developing a process of creating individualised resting hand splints. Resting hand splints are used for Adults who have acquired a brain or spinal Injury. The splints help patients with the rehabilitation process. Currently Occupational Therapist manually mould a thermoplastic to a patient's arm. When the patient leaves rehab they take the splints with them and it gets smelly, dirty or is lost they cannot access a replacement because the splints cannot be made at a local GP or Medical Centre. This is a big problem for people who live in Regional or Remote Regions.

Our solution will enable breathing holes in the design, a perfectly fitting shape, and easy re-print if someone loses their Splint.
