As mum to Eve, who you may remember from the crowdfunding campaign video and who is the subject of the first trial, I thought I would take this opportunity to update you personally on the progress that has been made possible through your support of time, expertise and generous donations to AbilityMate.
$54,814 was raised through the StartSomeGood platform and another $45,000 came through anonymous donations direct to AbilityMate - bringing the total to a staggering $99,814! I am happy to report that AbilityMate have moved at a lightning pace to develop a set of digitally scanned and 3D printed orthotics - fuelled by your belief that they can really do this.
Version one confirmed they had found the right material, and from there refinements were needed. They have experimented with different scanners, different 3D printers, different designs and have hit on a beautifully designed pair of Orthotics that are both strong yet flexible enough for Eve to walk comfortably. Eve’s name is even embossed on the back...how cool!
Stay tuned for more on Eve’s progress with her new Magic Shoes with video’s coming soon!
